I am really curious as to why I am getting so many visitors, or at least hits, from Russia and Ukraine. If anyone would like to tell me or inform me then write a comment or send an email: lgbthope@vekker.eu

After reading or listening to a good Christian message, I sometimes
check out the YouTube and/or Facebook comments, then I regret doing
so. If it is anything to do with homosexuality, then what always
happens is someone just throws it out: “It’s an abomination, it’s
the worst sin of all, God hates it more than anything else” -
something like that.
Then
you get the other extreme, the pro-gay activist stance: In the Mosaic
law, shellfish and shrimps are also an abomination, and no one
bothers about that any more.
So
what are we to think? Is being gay really worse than anything else?
First
of all, there is more than one Hebrew word, perhaps 3 or 4, which
some Bible translations render as abomination.
If we start with the LGBTQ+
issue, then we need to examine two Biblical passages: “You
shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
(Leviticus 18:22 –
ESVUK) and “If
a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed
an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is
upon them.
(Leviticus 20:13). In both verses
here, the Hebrew word is
tó‘éváh
So
what about shellfish? Still in Leviticus: “Everything in the waters
that has not fins and scales is detestable (KJV: an abomination) to
you.” Leviticus 11:12) (In a similar vein, certain birds and
insects are
also called such
– verses 13-20). In these passages the Hebrew word is sheqetz
There
is a well known
expression, which is also relevant here, which is the “abomination
of desolation” mentioned in the book of Daniel and also quoted by
Jesus. The Hebrew word here is shiqqútz
a
word related to the previous one, having the same three root letters.
Incidentally,
the Greek Septuagint version (LXX) renders all three words
identically: bdelügma
(βδέλυγμα), as
does the New Testament, which is not very helpful, but anyway...
However,
this means that we have no reason to confuse abominable sexual sin
with an abominable prawn cocktail, because a totally different word
is used. The words sheqetz/shiqqútz
generally
refer to ceremonial, ritual uncleanness, such as forbidden foods, but
sometimes to sinful actions too, such as idol worship or sorcery. But
what about the other word? Does it only apply to homosexuality? Not
at all!
In
Leviticus 18, all kinds of sexual sins are listed, as are the
punishments for them in Leviticus 20, such as sexual intercourse with
a close relative, or an animal, or with a women during her monthly
period. Burning their children to the god Molech is also on the list.
The
reason for this is also given: “Do not make yourselves unclean by
any of these things, for by all these the nations I am driving out
before you have become unclean,
and
the land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the
land vomited out its inhabitants. But you shall keep my statutes and
my rules and do none of these abominations, either the native or the
stranger who sojourns among you (for the people of the land, who were
before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became
unclean), lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it
vomited out the nation that was before you. For everyone who does any
of these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from
among their people.” (Leviticus
18:24-29).
So all those sins which are listed in this chapter are called
abominations (tó‘éváh).
It
was because of these sins that God condemned the peoples living in
Canaan, so the prohibitions do not only apply to Israel if God judged
Gentiles for committing them, and we are not just talking about
ceremonial uncleanness here.
However,
there is a passage which is not found in the books of the law, but it
does apply to Israel: “There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked
plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who
breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.”
(Proverbs 6:16-19). The word for abomination here is tó‘éváh
(actually
tó‘évót
- plural),
but
there is nothing here about sexual sins, or even idol worship, though
reference to lying is made twice. These
abominations are matters of a moral nature, and are still regarded as
sins under the new covenant. (The great thing being that there is
always grace, and the opportunity for repentance!)
So,
if we ask what the most abominable sin is, and what God hates more
than anything, it
appears that lying
would be pretty much on the top of the list. And maybe that is
understandable, after all, Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44),
and if someone preaches a false gospel, they are not only abominable,
but also accursed (anathema – Galatians 1:8-9). All liars have
their portion in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur
(Revelation 21:8).
In
summary, therefore, gay sex, although it does exclude someone from
the kingdom of God, is not the worst sin after all. This is just
asserted by cis-gendered heterosexuals who are projecting their own
emotional reactions onto God, but the Bible does not support this
idea. Far more damaging morally are lying, slander, hatred, pride,
causing divisions, and most of all, the preaching of a false gospel.

olyasmi.
Utána
jön a másik szélsőség – a pro-gay aktivista –, hogy: a
mózesi törvényben a kagylók és a rákfélék is utálatosak, és
azzal senki nem foglalkozik.
Akkor
mi van ezzel? Meleg lenni tényleg rosszabb minden másnál?
Először,
több – talán 3, 4 – héber szó van, amelyet a Bibliaverziók
utálatosságnak fordítanak.
Ha kezdünk az LMBTQ+ kérdéssel, akkor két
igehelyet kell megvizsgálnunk: „Férfival
ne hálj úgy, ahogyan asszonnyal hálnak. Utálatosság az.”
(III.Mózes 18,22) és „Ha
valaki férfival hál úgy, ahogyan asszonnyal szoktak hálni, mivel
utálatosságot követtek el mindketten, halállal lakoljanak, vérük
rajtuk.” (III.Mózes 20,13). Itt mindkét helyen a héber szó
tó‘éváh
És
mi van a rákfélékkel? Még mindig Mózes harmadik könyvében:
„Utálatos legyen minden olyan vízben élő, amelynek nincs
uszonya és pikkelye.” (III.Mózes 11,12) (Hasonlóan bizonyos
madarak és rovarok – 13-20. v.) Ezeken a helyeken a héber szó
seqec
szerepel.
amely rokon szó az előzővel.
Egyébként,
a görög szeptuaginta verzió (LXX) mind a három szót egyformán
seqec/siqqúc
szavak néha utalnak ceremóniális, rituális tisztátlanságra,
mint a tiltott ételekre, néha viszont bűnös gyakorlatokra is,
mint a bálványimádásra
vagy a varázslásra.
De mi van a másikkal? Ez csak a homoszexualitásra vonatkozik?
Egyáltalán nem!
A
III.Mózes 18 felsorol mindenféle szexuális bűnt – valamint
III.Mózes 20 azoknak büntetését – mint, pl. közeli rokonnal
való közösülés, vagy állattal, vagy nővel a havi
tisztálatlansága idején. Azt is említi, hogy ne égessék el
gyermekeit
a Molok istennek.
utálatos dolgokat, se a bennszülött, se a köztetek tartózkodó
Ezek
olyan bűnök, amelyért Isten a Kanaánban élő népeket is
elítélte, tehát, nem csak Israelre vonatkozott ez
a tiltás,
Izra
elre vonatkozik: „Hat
dolgot gyűlöl az Úr, sőt hét dolog utálatos előtte: A
nagyravágyó szemek, a hazug nyelv, az ártatlan vért ontó kezek,
a gonosz terveket koholó szív, a rosszra sietve
futó lábak, a hazugságot beszélő hamis tanú és a testvérek
közt viszályt szító ember. (Példabeszédek 6,16-19). Itt a
tó‘éváh
ill.
kétszer szerepel a hazugsággal kapcolatos dolgok. Ezek
(anathema) is. Aki hazug, annak osztályrésze lesz a tűzzel és
kénnel égő tóban.
Összegezve,
tehát, a meleg szex, bár kizár Isten királyságából,
mégsem a legrosszabb bűn.
ártalmasabb a hazugság, a rágalmazás, a gyűlölet, a
felfuvalkodás, a széthúzás, és legfeljebb a hamis evangélium
hirdetése.

Egy volt meleg aktivista bizonysága
David Bennett ausztrál fiatal emberként 10 évvel ezelőtt egy kocsmában találkozott Istennel. Itt a rövid bizonysága.

When
I say that I am a gay Christian, I am not returning to my vomit. I am
not remaining and rolling in the mud of wilful sin. Instead, I am
thinking about two particular matters:
1. Being in the closet is a lonely place. When I began coming out to my closest friends and family, I quickly learned the value of having spaces where I was both fully known and fully loved. My favorite quote on this matter is by Tim Keller. I have quoted it before, and I will most certainly quote it again in the future.
“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”
2. I call myself a gay Christian because it is the most honest way I can describe my experiences. I am simply being intellectually honest. I would like for Christians to agree that there is a wealth of difference between associating with sinful practice on the one hand, in contrast to gladly boasting in my infirmities on the other (II Cor 12:9).”
There are some of us Christians who have repented of our horrible sins, and who have mortified our flesh, and who champion Christ as Lord and Saviour, who daily invite Jesus in and daily install Him onto the throne of our lives and whose world revolves around Jesus, and we serve Him, and we witness the mercy and Love of Jesus through the way that we daily live out our lives.
And also, as an aside, I just happen to be gay.
Jesus sits on the throne of my life. I have confessed my old sinful habits. I have cast off those same old sinful habits. My everything (including my sexuality) is now submitted to the Cross and to Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour 😇😇😇
Like the Apostle Paul I will boast in my infirmities:
“Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
(II Cor 12:8-9).
If my gay orientation is one of my infirmities, then I will indeed boast in this infirmity that the power of Christ may rest on me, so that I might show the power of His redemption to the world so that His Name may be Glorified!!
You will easily guess what my response to Jesus was. Out of love of Christ I have chosen celibacy and Christ’s Grace has been sufficient, seeing as He has chosen not to remove my thorn (II Cor 12:7-9).
I do not want to be thought of as actively and wilfully sinning by simply existing. I am a Christian who just simply happens to be gay, that is, experiencing an ongoing pattern of attraction to others who share my gender.
The world out there has heard of and knows the expression ‘gay’. God willing, the world may be flummoxed when they hear the expression ‘Christian who just happens to be gay’ or ‘gay Christian’ !!!! The secular gay community needs Jesus without any shadow of doubt !!!!! My intent in my word choices is mission and witness 😇😇😇
As I have explained earlier, Jesus through Paul reminds me to boast about my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest in me, so that the world may observe the wonderful works of Christ, so that He may indeed be Glorified 😇😇😇

1.
Magányos hely a ruhás szekrény. Mikor el kezdtem a legjobb
barátaim, családom számára „előbújni”, rájöttem,
hogy olyan helyeken lenni, ahol teljesen ismernek, mégis teljesen
szeretnek, nagyon értékes dolog. Tim Keller-t már idéztem ezzel
kapcsolatosan, most is mondom, bizony nem utoljára:
2.
olyan keresztények, akik megtértek a szörnyű bűneiből,
sanyargatják a hústestüket, felemelik a Megváltó Úr Jézust,
akik minden nap fordulnak Jézus Krisztushoz, hogy foglaljon helyet
az életük trónján. A világunk Jézus körül forog, szolgálunk
neki, mindennapi életünkkel teszünk bizonyságot Jézus
irgálmáról, szeretetéről.
Ézen
kívül, történetesen meleg is vagyok.
Jézus ül az életem trónján. Bevallottam a régi, bűnöst szokásaim. El is dobtam azokat a régi, bűnös szokásokat. Mindenemet – a szexuális orientáltságom is – alávetem a keresztnek, Jézus Krisztusnak, aki a Megváltó, Isten fia 😇😇😇
